Pete Gross House Council

Pete Gross was well-known in Seattle and throughout the Pacific Northwest. As the official "Voice of the Seattle Seahawks" for 17 years before losing his battle with cancer in 1992. His distinctive delivery in the broadcast booth was instantly recognizable and his trademark call, "Touchdown Seahawks!" was a familiar game-day exclamation to all Seattle sports fans.

When Pete passed away, his friends and family made an informal commitment to build a lasting legacy that would honor him in a very special way. Their common dream: a housing facility that would be available to serve patients and their families during their own battle with cancer. For five years, Pete's family, closest friends, and former colleagues kept the dream alive. As support grew throughout the community for the idea of the Pete Gross House, it was decided that the time had come to formalize the structure of the committee.

Activities

The Pete Gross House Council was founded in May 1997 and became the driving force behind fundraising efforts that enabled the dream of the Pete Gross House to become a reality in November 1999. The Council continues their fundraising efforts through the annual Ultimate Sports Auction, which raises money to support the Family Assistance Fund and Pete Gross House.
