Molecular Diagnostics Program

Molecular Diagnostics is a multi-disciplinary program that utilizes proteomics, genomics, and bioinformatics to identify trace proteins called “markers” that are secreted into the blood by tumors, or present in cells or tissues.

In the future, these markers could be used for the early detection and diagnosis of lung, liver, pancreatic and other cancers through the application of highly sensitive early cancer-detection tests.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is a world leader in research to prevent, detect and treat cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
