Bob Kinney's gifts to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center honored his wife's memory and provided income

Fred Hutchinson Heroes

Bob Kinney, who passed away in November 2008, was a loyal and generous supporter of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Bob started supporting the Hutchinson Center in 1997, when his wife, Frankie, was taken by breast cancer. Bob established four charitable gift annuities in her memory and felt very strongly about doing his part to fight cancer.

In an interview with Bob in April 2004, he said "Supporting the Center makes sense for many reasons. It is the place where scientific breakthroughs are made and where the cure for cancer will be found."

Bob knew that his gifts through annuities were investments in the future. "I am convinced that through the efforts of the Center, future generations will not have to fear cancer."

With each gift annuity, Bob received a federal tax deduction and fixed income for life.
