When Barbara Peterson made her first donation to the Hutchinson Center five years ago, she knew she was helping others. But she didn't know how much she would enjoy being one of the center's major donors.

"I think it's probably an old cliché, but it is such a good feeling to give," she says. "I benefit as much by giving as anyone…My husband Warren died of cancer in 1989. That's how my interest in the Hutchinson Center began. But since then, I've been impressed with everything the Hutch does…Members of my family and I have met with some of the researchers and have been thrilled by what we've seen…I know there are many promising directions in research that just won't happen if donors don't support them."
