University Village, proud supporter of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

The month of May is very special in Seattle. The sun starts to come out in earnest, the flowering trees are in full bloom and University Village, a Seattle shopping center, helps Seattleites raise thousands of dollars for cancer research.

For three years running, University Village has participated in a unique fund raising promotion for the Hutchinson Center. Every third weekend in May, the shopping center makes a special offer: buy a 20/20 Card for $20 and receive 20% off purchase at participating stores and restaurants. The Center receives 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the 20/20 Card. Crate and Barrel, an anchor in the outdoor shopping village, gives five percent of receipts from the weekend to the Center. Together, they have successfully raised over $25,000 to help cure cancer.
