Hartwell Innovation Fund

Innovators Network

Innovators Network funds support Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center's priorities including the Hartwell Innovation Fund.

Established in 2001 by Craig and Marie Mundie in honor of Hutchinson Center president and director, Dr. Lee Hartwell, the Hartwell Innovation Fund allows the Center to rapidly respond to novel and sometimes unexpected research opportunities. The fund is used for four types of activities essential to maintaining the Hutchinson Center's research excellence:

Each year, the directors of the Center's four research divisions solicit proposals for innovative research activities that do not qualify for other standard institutional funding. A small committee led by Dr. Hartwell then selects proposals that will become Hartwell Innovation Fund projects.
