The importance of flexible funding

The Importance of Flexible FundingFlexible funding allows the Center to fund new ideas and innovations as they emerge — accelerating our ability to prevent, detect and treat cancer.

Founded upon principles of scientific innovation, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is arguably the most qualified institution to transform the potential of scientific revolutions into direct benefit for individuals with or at risk for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

As testament to our research excellence, the Hutchinson Center receives more peer-reviewed grant funding from the National Institutes of Health than any other independent research center in the United States — a bedrock of support that has enabled our numerous cancer-research accomplishments over the past three decades.

Today, the pace and potential of research has vastly accelerated and cannot be supported by government grants alone. The need is great for flexible private funding to continue making life-saving strides in our research.

The time to take advantage of new research opportunities is now. The Hutchinson Center seeks investors who are as equally visionary as our scientists — investors who believe in the power of innovative biomedical research to save lives.
