Helen Horton

Dr. Horton's lab focuses on immune regulation during chronic viral infection, with an emphasis on HIV-1. Projects in Horton lab related to viral pathogenesis:

1. Defining immune mechanisms allowing some rare individuals, termed long-term non-progressors (LTNP), to control HIV-1 infection for extended periods.
2. Defining immune mechanisms that could explain why infants progress to AIDS faster than HIV-infected adults.
