Diabetes rates in our country continue to rise. If current trends continue, more than 11% of our population will have the disease by 2030. New research also shows that persons with diabetes may be at higher risk of developing some cancers. Diabetes (type 2) is preventable, particularly through modest weight loss, increases in physical activity and healthy eating. Please join Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center’s Dr. Lesley Tinker as she shares research in these areas, and describes how you can take your health into your own hands. This event is free to the public.
