The Cancer Surveillance System (CSS) collects population-based data on cancer incidence and survival in 13 counties in western Washington State. These cancer data are collected to provide public health scientists and practitioners with the ability to:
The CSS is part of the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) program of the National Cancer Institute. The SEER program monitors cancer incidence and survival in approximately 26% of the US population. The CSS also provides data to the Washington State Cancer Registry, which monitors cancer incidence in the entire state of Washington.
The CSS is supported by funding from the SEER Program, with additional support from the FHCRC and the Washington State Department of Health.
