The Training and Career Development Core [TCDC] facilitates interaction between undergraduate and graduate students, as well as post-docs and faculty interested in cancer health disparities research. The TCDC: 1) identifies opportunities for enhanced training in cancer health disparities at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center [FHCRC] and at the University of New Mexico [UNM]; 2) provides opportunities for Latino students to be involved in cancer health disparities research projects; 3) identifies structures and mechanisms to foster the recruitment of Latinos into careers that focus on cancer health disparities; and 4) provides leadership opportunities for students, post-docs, and junior faculty to develop and advance their careers in cancer health disparities.
