Alliance wins awards from leading transplant network

Dec. 4, 2003

The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is the recipient of two Client Choice Awards from the United Resource Network (URN), a provider of transplant insurance-benefit services. Representatives from the Alliance received top honors in the Communication and Administrative Ease award categories at the URN conference held this fall in Minneapolis.

The Client Choice Awards are based on responses to a survey that examined specific attributes of the medical centers that participate in URN's Transplant Network, a program that helps to negotiate competitive rates for patients who require transplants for their medical condition. Debbie Stenhjem, director of revenue cycle management at the Alliance, said that the awards reflect the cooperative effort of the entire clinical support staff.

"This is a testament to everyone involved in the process-from the intake office to the finance staff to the discharge and utilization review nurses," she said.

With 147 transplant programs in 57 medical centers, the URN is the nation's leading transplant network.
