The Hutchinson Center established Hutch Kids in 1990 to provide quality on-site child care for the children of the Center’s faculty and staff. The National Association for the Education of Young Children-accredited facility also welcomes SCCA and University of Washington families with Center affiliation, and, as of in 2009, families from the community when space is available.

Hutch Kids is administered and operated as a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation with a board of directors comprised of parents with children currently enrolled and several community members.
