15th Anniversary Premier Chefs Dinner Raises More Than $308,000 for Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

SEATTLE — May 22, 2006 — No longer content toiling behind the scenes, members of the Premier Chefs Advisory Board took center stage to raise more than $308,000 for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center at the 2006 Premier Chefs Dinner on Sunday, May 21 at the Grand Hyatt Seattle.

In celebration of this special anniversary, Premier Chefs board members Eric Lenard, University of Washington; Russell Lowell, Russell Dean Lowell Catering; Brian Scheehser, Hunt Club at the Sorrento; and Chef-at-Large Tom Black lent their time and resources to prepare a five-course culinary adventure.

Each course was paired with an exceptional Northwest wine provided and selected by The Tasting Room and served up by wine writer and consultant Liza Zimmerman, Seattle Weekly food and wine columnist. There was also a small culinary-focused live auction and opportunity to win fabulous raffle prizes. Featured items included private winemaker dinners, tastings, tours, and parties at some of Seattle's finest restaurants.

Emcees for the evening were media personality and Puget Sound Business Journal columnist Patti Payne and Chateau Ste. Michelle culinary director John Sarich. Noted radio broadcaster Larry Flynn served as auctioneer.

The 15th annual Premier Chefs Dinner was sponsored by Amgen, Turner Construction, Lease Crutcher Lewis, Silver Cloud Inns and General Motors. All proceeds from the Premier Chefs dinner benefit the Hutchinson Center's general fund, which sustains vital programs such as faculty recruitment, pilot-research projects, shared-research facilities and patient-family support.
