Events and Community Education

The Survivorship Program is dedicated to providing education and support to patients and family members. We provide:

  • Individualized education through appointments in the SCCA Survivorship Clinic
  • Lectures and talks at cancer center conferences and community events that address survivorship issues and healthy living recommendations
  • Sharing of our expertise at local and national conferences

We are equally dedicated to educating health-care professionals and provide:

  • Treatment summaries and survivorship care plans to assist them in following your care
  • Continuing medical education opportunities in cancer survivorship
  • Publications and presentations to keep their knowledge of survivorship issues current

6/1/2013 - Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness
Time: 8:30am-3:00pm
Location: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, 1100 Fairview Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109
Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness is an annual event designed for cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, friends, family and health care professionals. It is designed to provide general education on a variety of the late- and long-term effects faced by cancer survivors after treatment is completed.

8/25-31/2013 - Epic Experience: A week long outdoor adventure camp for Survivors and Fighters
August 25-31, 2013 has been scheduled for Cancer Survivors and fighters of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance to come together in the beautiful Colorado Rockies. Kayaking is the activity for the week, along with yoga, massage, and enjoying one of the oldest dude ranches in Colorado. All costs including transportation are covered by Epic Experience. Space is limited to 13 so act fast.
Location: Dude Ranch outside of Vail, Colorado. All travel expenses are provided by Epic Experience.

9/26/2013 - Stress Management for Survivors and Caregivers
