Pediatric Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness 2010

Pediatric Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness

Thank you to those who were able to attend our second pediatric Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness event on Saturday, November 6, 2010. This free event featured a keynote address by Sean Swarner, a two-time pediatric cancer survivor and first cancer survivor to summit Mount Everest. The event also featured breakout sessions led by experts in the fields of nutrition, insurance coverage, transitions to adulthood, fertility and reproductive issues, cognitive function and school issues after cancer, emotional adaptation and coping with stress, and late effects from cancer treatment.
The event was attended by more than 140 individuals affected by cancer. The post-event evaluations reflected overwhelmingly positive impressions; requests and comments will be considered in planning future events.
