Through Exercise and Thrive, survivors will build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve capacity to perform daily activities. Exercise and Thrive may help reduce the severity of cancer's side effects, prevent unwanted weight changes and improve participants' energy levels and self-esteem. The final goal is to help cancer survivors develop their own physical fitness regimens so that they can continue their exercise activities after completing the program.
The Exercise and Thrive program is a benefit provided through the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Survivorship Program and the YMCA of Greater Seattle at no cost to participants.
