Thank you to those of you who were able to attend our first Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness event for survivors of pediatric cancer and their families on Saturday, October 18, 2008. This free event featured keynote speakers Heidi Adams, founder of Planet Cancer (http://www.planetcancer.org/html/index.php) and cancer survivor and Jake Seliger, graduate student and young adult osteosarcoma survivor. The event also offered breakout sessions led by experts in the fields of nutrition, complementary and alternative medicine, exercise, relationships and dating, insurance rights, emotional adaptation and late effects from cancer treatment.
The event was attended by more than 100 individuals affected by pediatric cancer. The post-event evaluations reflected overwhelmingly positive impressions; requests and comments will be considered in planning future events.
