Consultant takes post as interim Security manager

Guy Ott, vice president of Facilities and Operations, has announced that security consultant Clifford Simonsen, , PhD., CPP, of Criminology Consultants International, Inc., has been retained as interim security manager.

He replaces Skip Jones, who resigned effective April 11 to become Intel's Washington site security manager in Dupont, Wash. Simonsen has broad experience in security management, including hospitals.

"I feel fortunate to have a person of Cliff's caliber on board to deal with any crisis that may occur while we search for a permanent manager for our Security Department," Ott says.

Simonsen's phone number will be Ext. 5656 and his mail stop will be LM-200.

Synthia Preston has been named event director for the Hutch Holiday Gala, filling the position vacated by Nancy Greenwood, who is now associate director of gift planning in the Development and Community Relations Division.

Preston's new phone number is Ext. 2980, the mailstop is LY-210 and her e-mail is spreston@fhcrc.org. Greenwood's new phone and mailstop numbers are Ext. 5253 and LY-120. Her e-mail address remains ngreenwo@fhcrc.org.

Joy Poutre, project manager for Biostatistics in the Public Health Sciences Division, has announced she is retiring from the Center, effective April 30.

Poutre has worked for the Center for the past 23 years. A farewell party will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday April 28, in 927-A of Metropolitan Park II. More info: Ext. 6463.
