CENTER NEWS - THURSDAY, APRIL 17, 1997 FEATURES

By popular demand, writers return

Last November, more than a dozen Center staff joined forces to share their creative writing with friends and coworkers in the first-ever Center "Writers Reading." It was a grand success.

Now, in conjunction with the Center Art Show, two programs of crative writing will be presented Monday, May 19, in room 924 of Metropolitan Park II. The mid-day program will be from noon to 1:30 p.m., and an evening program, open to the public, will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Creative writers who work at the Center are invited to participate. Writers will have five minutes each to read from their original poetry, essays, short stories or other work.

Writers must sign up by Monday, May 5, by phone. Weekdays, call Jesse Winter of Weiss-Daling Studies at 525-7938 or Esther Kohler of the Hanford Thyroid Disease Study at Ext. 5847. Evenings, call Kohler at 525-9224 or Winter at Ext. 7067.
