CENTER NEWS - THURS., AUGUST 17, 2000 OFF THE TOP

Bring family members to the Center's Sept. 15-16 Open House Celebration!

It'll be upbeat. It'll be fun. It'll be interesting. And it'll be the kind of event to which you will want to bring the whole family. The event, of course, is the Center's 25th anniversary Open House Celebration, set for 2-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15 (primarily for faculty and staff), and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 (for the general public). Here's a rundown of some of the highlights of those two days: n Face-painting, balloon animals, coloring and more for the kids. n Cooking demonstrations by leading Seattle chefs who will show the preparation of health and delicious recipes. n Displays showing what it's like to work in a laboratory, including the art of micro-pipetting, DNA spooling and proper hand-washing. nPersonalized cancer risk assessments. n A blood and marrow drive, a great opportunity for Hutch faculty and staff to get on the marrow registry. n A chance to meet baseball players who played with the Center's namesake. n A graphic timeline of Hutch history. n A sale of Hutch logo items. For more information on the Open House Celebration, call Robbie Phillips at Ext. 4285. If you would like to volunteer during the event, see the article below.
