Our laboratory focuses on the interactions that occur between hepatitis C virus (HCV) and human liver cells. For HCV, these interactions often involve subversion of cellular antiviral and immune response pathways. We have developed model systems to study the interaction between HCV proteins and cellular proteins including signal transduction pathways that contribute to HCV pathogenesis, evasion of immune responses and antiviral resistance.
