Clinical Research Approaches

Clinical research involves both laboratory research and human studies. A new drug or treatment will be tested first in appropriate animal models before proceeding to very carefully designed clinical trials on humans. A description of the process of clinical trials (phases I-III) and the challenges of designing each phase, as well as a discussion of the statistical issues that influence size of studies are presented as is a description of the development of a radioimmunotherapy treatment.
