To use a micropipet successfully, you need to follow a few rules:
- Select the correct micropipet that will deliver the volume of liquid you
need.
- Recognize where the decimal place is on the micropipet. This is often indicated
by a colored line between two digits. In this simulation, all of the pipets
except the P1000 have a red line.
- Always store your pipets in an upright position.
- Prime your pipets each morning before use - depressing the plunger several
times.
- Do not use your pipet at a range higher or lower than it was designed for.
- Pipet slowly, holding the pipet no more than 20 degrees from the vertical.
- Never invert or lay pipet on its side while liquid is in the tip.
- Use the proper tip designed for your particular pipet.
- Check the tip for proper fit or your volumes may be inaccurate.
