This funding is open to predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees who are involved in interdisciplinary research. Funding is from an NIH Training Grant.  Some of the sources of funding for this program require that the project be related to cancer or HIV.  Please be sure to specify in your proposal how your project is relevant to these areas of research.

NIH training grant funding guidelines stipulate that predoctoral students may be awarded a total of five years of NIH training support and postdoctoral fellows may be awarded a total of three years of support. The policy of this training grant is to award a maximum of three years to either postdoctoral or predoctoral applicants. Therefore, trainees who have already received this level of NIH funding are not eligible to apply for the dual mentor fellowship. Applicants must also be US citizens or permanent residents.
