Consortium Expectations

  1. Provide a team dedicated to biomarker discovery at a specific disease site

Each team will have significant proteomic screening capability. A team will have expertise in:

    • clinical treatment of the disease under investigation
    • mouse model of the disease,
    • capability for high-throughput proteomic analysis
    • generation and/or use of antibody reagents
    • bioinformatics.

A minimum of ten personnel at the level of post-doctoral fellow or technician should be devoted full-time to the project.

  2. Obtain funding to support local biomarker discovery effort
Each team must secure its own funding locally. We will be happy to work with prospective teams to prepare materials and to meet with government officials to explain the importance of this project for the future of healthcare in each country.
  3. Share information, particularly technological advances, with other teams
All teams will freely exchange data for the purpose of collaboratively assessing the best procedures for biomarker discovery. Teams will encourage members of other teams to visit for brief periods to learn experimental techniques.
