Our research focus is the mechanism of eukaryotic transcription (the synthesis of RNA) by RNA Polymerase. Research in the laboratory uses biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology, and genetics to understand key protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions which are fundamental to the regulation and mechanism of gene expression.
