Jeremy Mseitif
I was born in Beirut Lebanon and earned my Baccalaureate II degree in 1976. Because of the civil war and the unrest that took place in Lebanon, I had to migrate to Seattle Washington in June of 1978. My older brother and sister who had settled down here, helped me get situated. I attended Seattle Central Community College and graduated in 1980 with an AA degree. I then moved to the the University of Washington to pursue my childhood dream, which was to be an astronomer. From there henceforth, responsibilities and family issues took me on a different course in life and further me away from my dreams. For 11 years I worked at Providence Hospital on capital hill, where I worked as a computer operator and specimen processing tech. I then moved to University of Washington Medical Center took on several positions, from working at Harborview Medical Center as a midnight lead tech, and later as a program coordinator for Community Services. My last position there was a coordinator for Research and Testing Services (RTS) in the Department of Laboratory Medicine under the direction of Dr. Wayne Chandler. In October of 2001, I moved to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center where I currently work as a research administrator for Dr. Harmit Malik, Dr. Susan Parkhurst, Dr. Gerald Smith and Dr. Toshio Tsukiyama.
I live in the heart of downtown Bothell, but yet I feel like I live in the wilderness surrounded by birds and large tall trees, whilst High Way 522 traffic is right below us. When I am not at my office I enjoy working around the house. Spring through summer I am mostly working on yard projects, which I tend to have plenty more than I can handle in one season. In the winter, you can find me fiddling inside the house, beside that in my spare time, I am pretty active in the Muslim community.
