Susan G. Komen for the Cure BHGI Founding Organization with the Hutchinson Center, guides the BHGI international advocacy effort.

• Susan G. Komen for the Cure's advocacy goal of saving lives and increasing the quality of life for women and men dealing with breast cancer today takes on increased urgency within the context of the growing global impact of breast cancer.
  
  
• Susan G. Komen for the Cure is committed to being a positive agent of change in the international battle against breast cancer by:
  
  
  • Fostering understanding and awareness of the disease and its effects
    
    
  • Assessing specific breast health and breast cancer needs in selected countries and/or regions, and assisting local non-government organizations in meeting them
    
    
  • Increasing international support for research, education, early detection and treatment efforts
    
    
  • Identifying innovative community based breast health education and early detection programs and sponsoring forums in which these can be shared with others.
