Cancer Prevention Program

In the Cancer Prevention Program, we believe that changing lifestyle or environment during childhood and/or adult life can lower cancer incidence and improve survival.

The major goals of the Cancer Prevention Program are to:

• Investigate cancer etiology and risk factors, including the identification of genetic, biologic, nutritional, and behavioral modifiers
  
  
  
• Conduct clinic- and community-based intervention studies in targeted populations to identify ways to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality
  
  
  
• Develop and test novel screening and surveillance methods that can be readily translated into clinical practice
  
  
  
• Train students and post-doctoral fellows in prevention research
