Projects: Hispanic Cancer Network to Reduce Cancer Disparities Undergraduate Training Program for Underrepresented Students U54 CA132381 Radionovela to Address Cervical Cancer and the HPV Vaccine for Rural Hispanics The overall goal of this project is to use Spanish language radio to disseminate culturally appropriate information about cervical cancer, HPV, and the HPV vaccine to the Hispanic population in the Lower Yakima Valley. SIP 3 Intervention to Increase Screening for Cervical Cancer in Women of Mexican Descent The overall goal of this project is to evaluate the efficacy of the AMIGAS program (an intervention prototype developed to increase the use of cervical cancer screening in women of Mexican heritage) and its separate components, compared with usual care, in a randomized controlled trial.
