Hanford Thyroid Disease Study

The Hanford Thyroid Disease Study (HTDS) Final Report is now available (6/24/02) at The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) - National Center for Environmental Health.

The primary purpose of this epidemiological study was to investigate whether thyroid disease is increased among persons exposed to atmospheric releases of radioactive materials from the Hanford Nuclear Site in eastern Washington between 1944 and 1957.
