What are Podcasts?

Podcasts are audio content that can be downloaded and listened to on a computer, iPod or other MP3 device. Simply, new material can be delivered automatically to your computer on a set schedule. There is an incredible range of content being published by news outlets, institutions and individuals. Science and medical journals have also utilized this technology to create weekly segments that can easily disseminate the latest news in their field at no cost to the subscriber.

How can I listen?

The easiest way is to install a free program that will check for new episodes and download them to your computer. You can listen to them from your desktop, or download them to an MP3 player or iPod. These are the most popular (free) programs:
